Dermal Fillers involve an injection of a gel-like product (depending on the type of filler) to physically fill and plump out the line or area of concern. The product acts as a scaffold under the skin, providing structure and stimulating your own natural collagen to grow. Ultimately the body absorbs the product and leaves behind the natural collagen for long-lasting results.
Soft tissue dermal fillers, most commonly HA’s like Restylane or Emervel can also help fill in the lines and creases that appear on our faces as we age, temporarily restoring a more smooth, more youthful appearance. These fillers can also add fullness to the cheeks and lips and can be used alone in conjunction with other resurfacing procedures such and Microdermabrasion.
Restyllane is a sterile gel of non-animal stabilsed hyaluronic acid for injection into the skin to correct facial lines, wrinkles and folds, for lip enhancement and for shaping the facial contours. Because it is a non-animal product no testing is required prior to use. This is one of the safest fillers and has been in use since its introduction in Sweden in 1996. It has full FDA approval for injection of wrinkles since 2003.
Emervel is a non-animal stablised hyaluronic acid from the French company Galderma and was launched in April 2011. There is a complete range of 9 dermal fillers in the Emervel range. Volume is specifically formulated to lift, sculpt and volumise the cheekbone area. This area often loses volume and flattens with the ageing process and the natural feminine contour of the upper face is diminished leading to heavier nose to mouth lines.
Radiesse (Calcium Hydroxylapatite Fillers)
Calcium hydroxylapatite has maintained a safe standard of treatment in the cosmetic industry for many years and is the main element of Radiesse dermal filler. This is a temporary but longer-lasting type of dermal filler which is highly effective for facial contouring. It is used mainly for volumising mid face, jawline contouring, cheek enhancements or as a rejuvenating treatment for the face as it stimulates collagen while present in the skin.
Sculptra (New-Fill) Poly-L-Lactic acid work from deep within to stimulate new collagen to smooth and firm areas of the face and restore the skin’s natural elasticity. This compound has been used in plastic and reconstructive medicine for more than 25 years. The effects of this treatment can last from 1-2 years.
What price is the treatment?
Prices will depend on the amount of product and type of filler used. Prices start from €350.
